A Practice Built on Experience and Compassion

América Alvarez has been admitted to practice law since October 1987. Her experience is unusually wide-ranging — she began as a staff attorney with the U.S. Department of Labor, working under an administrative law judge on cases spanning Black Lung disease claims to whistleblower matters, along with labor cases involving unpaid overtime and minimum wage violations. She then spent several years with an international publishing company, gaining hands-on business experience in contracts and financial matters, including foreign sales and purchases.

For the past 11 years, her focus has centered on general civil litigation, foreclosure, loan modifications, and bankruptcy — including preparing wills, complete estate planning packages (powers of attorney, health care surrogate designations, and related documents), and deeds. That hands-on experience with the very instruments families rely on is now the foundation of her work at Alexis Garcia Legal.

Experience & Approach

América’s approach is shaped by the breadth of her career. Whether she’s drafting a will, structuring a living trust, preparing a Lady Bird deed, or standing with a family working through bankruptcy or foreclosure, she combines decades of hands-on legal experience with a steady, compassionate focus on making a complicated process feel clear and manageable.

Her career has taken her from federal labor law, to corporate contract and business work, to over a decade concentrated in civil litigation, foreclosure, and bankruptcy — giving her a perspective few attorneys can offer, and a commitment to staying current on both the law and the technology that drives it.

Commitment to Helping Clients

América believes that planning for the future and working through financial hardship both call for the same thing: a clear, steady guide who takes the time to explain the process and the options available.

Whether she is helping a family put a will or trust in place, or standing with someone navigating bankruptcy or foreclosure, América draws on decades of hands-on legal experience to make a complicated process feel clear, manageable, and grounded in genuine care.
